Description
Rougui tea (肉桂), also known as “Cinnamon tea” or “Cassia tea,” is a highly regarded and distinct variety of Chinese oolong tea. Originating from the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian Province, Rougui tea has gained worldwide recognition for its unique flavor profile and captivating aroma reminiscent of cinnamon.
The leaves of Rougui tea are carefully hand-picked and skillfully processed to preserve their quality and essence. The tea leaves undergo a meticulous process of oxidation and semi-fermentation, resulting in a beautifully balanced oolong tea.
Tasting notes
Harmonious blend of warm cinnamon, roasted nuts, and subtle floral notes.
The initial sip reveals a mild sweetness with hints of honey and fruit, seamlessly transitioning into a deep and robust flavor. The prominent notes of cinnamon, reminiscent of the spice from which it derives its name, provide a distinctive warmth and lingering spiciness to the tea.
Brewing
Rougui tea is best brewed using Gongfu-style tea preparation, which involves using a small teapot and multiple short infusions to bring out the tea’s full flavor and aroma. A teapot can also be used, steeping time -2-3 minute. We recommend brewing temperature of 90-95°C
Health benefits
Rougui tea is not only enjoyed for its exquisite flavor but also revered for its potential health benefits. Oolong teas, in general, are known to be rich in antioxidants and polyphenols, which may help:
• Boost metabolism
