Description
Type: White Tea
Origin: Fujian province
Description
One of China’s most famous and sought-after tea, the White Hair Silver Needle (Bai Hao Yinzhen in Chinese) is the highest grade of white tea.
This white tea’s entire production is done almost entirely by hand: The white tips are plucked, withered, and carefully dried. Only the buds are used for this tea – no stems and no leaves – resulting in a delicate and rare tea that is light in taste and colour. This strict picking process also means the yield for this tea is relatively low, making it a rarity that is highly demanded.
The tea’s name comes from the silvery white aspect of the dried buds, which are needle-shaped and covered with white hair that give the tea its incredible appearance and fresh taste.
